Alia El-Bermani
is a contemporary painter of both the figure and natural still life object. 

Alia received her BFA from Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) in 2000.  This internationally recognized oil painter has had several solo exhibitions. Most recently in April 2016, Texas A&M University's Reynolds Gallery featured over twenty of her works in a solo exhibition titled Natural Forms & Figures. Her paintings have been showcased in several museums across the United States and Canada. In 2015 her painting Paper Wishes was acquired by the Museu Europeu d'Art Modern (MEAM) in Barcelona Spain for their permanent collection. El-Bermani has been an honored speaker at several universities as well as at the 2016 Symposium for Women in the Arts. Articles on her work can be found in numerous periodicals such as American Art Collector, ArtSee, Art Week, PoetsArtists Magazine and LA Weekly.

TEACHING:
Alia started teaching figure drawing and painting at her alma mater in 2000 in both their community education and BFA programs. Since moving to North Carolina, she has offered monthly classes locally and workshops around the country. In January 2017 she opened Alia Fine Art Studios, a beautiful, new teaching studio at Anchorlight in which she hosts weekly classes as well as invited, nationally recognized artist workshops.
